Cortado

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Espresso

  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk (120mL)

Tools/Glassware:

  • Espresso Machine

  • Espresso Measuring Glass

  • Milk Frother

  • Milk Pitcher

  • Cortado Glass (small, heat-resistant glass)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Espresso with the Espresso Machine - Set aside.

  2. Warm your milk in the microwave using the Milk Pitcher (120-140°F, about 45 seconds).

  3. With your Milk Frother, whisk the milk. Make it slightly frothy, but not as foamy as a cappuccino.

  4. With your Measuring Glass, measure and pour the espresso into the Cortado Glass.

  5. The ideal Cortado is equal parts espresso and milk, so aim for about 2 ounces of milk.

  6. Add the milk to the Cortado Glass with a spoon, or use the Measuring Glass to measure the milk before pouring.

  7. If desired, top with sugar or sweetener to taste. Stir or not stir.

  8. Enjoy!
